Loving the look of the new Glads! The improved costumes look awesome. Some have been tweaked and look great and nice to see the new Male glads have plenty of skin on show! :D

All the major faces return. ENIGMA, PANTHER, OBLIVION and SPARTAN in particular. Lets also hope INFERNO gets a higher profile season this year. If she hadnt been intoduced at the start of every show, you could have missed her completley.

Sorry to see ICE go, she had a lot of potential.

I doubt DESTROYER will be missed. Didnt really make a impact.

John Anderson going is both a blessing and a curse. Although such a major part of the show, he made a lot of mistakes in Season 1 and actually spoiled some things, in particular Earthquake.

WOLF returning? Not to sure. We will see how this works out. Seems funny they want to Refresh the show but they bring back WOLF. Could be a mistake.

On page 1 Paul quotes "New Events Iclude". Any idea on the others? Pursuit makes a welcome return, Rocketball??? I like this event visually but its a bit overhyped and not that good and Suspension Bridge is just lazy. Take the Demolition balls away from Hit & Run and you have another event!

I must admit this Season does look very good. Im more excited than I was about Season 1 so fingers crossed!

New Glads
Amazon- really does look like panther and hopefully is just as good

Cyclone- She looks alot different....ALOT

Doom- looks tough to beat not convinced about costume though

Goliath- Man he is BIG

Siren - Looks and sounds like ices replacement

Warrior- Does anyone else notice his vein really coming out on the picture with the new glads

Events
Suspension bridge- its back even if it was the most likely to return

Rocket ball - Yay that is my favorite american gladiators event but how will the uk do it

Pursuit - At first it was the one I was least looking forward to now its the one Im most looking forward to it sounds GREAT and a rope swing over the pool

Glad changes

Predator- What were they thinking with that costume

Oblivion - Looks more like a bad boy with the hair

Tempest - she was good looking before now she is HOT

And last but not least

Wolf- he looks meaner than ever also love his costume. Series 3 costume idea maybe

Can't win with some people.. lol

Why on Earth NOT bring Suspension Bridge back.. like people said.. the pool was there, the swing bridge was there, all they needed was ramrods.. it was probably the easiest way of bringing a classic game back, and well a mystery why it wasn't back in the 1st season anyway! lol..

Tilt.. uhm, could of happened, but I mean if they pulled them forward into the water.. that'd work, but if they fell back?? The pool hasn't got a big enough diameter to have them far enough apart and ensure they have a safe landing if they fell off backwards. IF they did want to bring it back, a clever way they could do it is have BOTH contender and Gladiator on adjacent platforms, with the rope going through a pulley on the opposite side of the pool, that way the platforms could be in the cente of the pool (a la duel style, lol).. and well give it a fresh take.. but still probably not viable.

Pursuit - Meh, was never a fan originally.. IF they can incorporate something new to it, or enhance it and make it not so Eliminator-esque, then fair do's..

Rocket Ball - I doubt they had the space (again) to do Swingshot, so Rocket ball is a great alternative. It'll certainly give something new to the show.

Again, people are speculating that these are just the first new games announced, and there could be some suprise additions.. so would it be wrong to say what games would be easy to add?? So apologies to mods if I'm overstepping the mark.

Whiplash - Not really a fan of it, but well.. possibly the cheapest game invented, lol.

Vertigo - surely there is scope to do a decent size replica of this event? and not a majorly costly addition??

New Event Ideas -

I know I've gone on about this more times than I should on here, but I think one or two of the events in the old Bravo show, Battledome.. would make brilliant additions to our new Gladiators show. I can't remember their names, but one (i've found a youtube link for those who havn't seen Battledome http://uk.youtube.com/watch?feature=related&v=ffxPnh5MQkI ) was a giant revolving platform in which two Warriors (ie Glads) would defend from the contender by means of pushing/wrestling.. the contender's aims is to remove both of them.. sort of a 2-on-1 Pyramid.. it'd be a fair expensive piece of kit to make, but would fit in the limited floorspace, and I believe make a great game.

Another was a giant cylinder/hollow pipe which again required wrestling.. maybe that'd be too similiar to Earthquake, so perhaps not a great addition. Or there was the main event (contender on contender) in which they were on opposing swing-like masts.. that swung into each other until one fell off.. the other being the victor.. that could be replicated on Glads, over the pool.. Glad on one side, contender on the other, swing them down into each other - almost a new age Human Cannonball, without the risk of..well, just kicking the s**t outta Glads really, lol.

Basically, whilst we might not have the space for some old classics, nor the budget.. there is still massive scope and potential for new games, or re-invented games in this smaller arena.

If we have any more new events, we'd hardly see some of them, and it'd be pointless having them if they are hardly gonna be used, so I think that we won't see any more new events.

They did a good job of fitting more events in when it was the classic series. Then again that was 6 shows per episode until series 4 then it was 5 shows! Sky One Gladiators really shouldn't have only 4 shows,it's so much more practical to have 5 :(

But if they were using more or less the same props (ie, hit and run.. suspension bridge)
it would take less time to shift from one event to another and then perhaps with the right scheduling
they could squeeze another event in the filming slot.

As for not seeing games so often, wouldn't be a bad thing when you think how often hit and run is played at the moment, lol..
in the original, hit and run was a filler.. these days, its part of the show's staple diet.. and its just not exciting enough for the amount of times its on, albeit its a handy way of having 4 glads show their faces.. but its still pants.

Not from a filming point of view. It seemed to take a long time yesterday to take the hang tough platforms/ grid down and the Duel platforms in their place.

I doubt everyone's favourite budget cutter (TM) aka Whiplash will ever come back. Much as I like it, it serves little prupose with Earthquake being around.

Tilt could maybe work if the platforms went diagonally across the pool.

And Suspension Bridge back- yay!

So youre gonna stick around and watch this series then?

Ice and Destroyer have both gone, and there is no Atlaspheres and (thankfully no) Sideswipe

Of course! i still watched series 1 even though it was poor but ive high hopes for series 2! i think they may have learnt from the mistakes of series 1 ;) and i like the new additions of glads and of the new eents!
