Can't win with some people.. lol
Why on Earth NOT bring Suspension Bridge back.. like people said.. the pool was there, the swing bridge was there, all they needed was ramrods.. it was probably the easiest way of bringing a classic game back, and well a mystery why it wasn't back in the 1st season anyway! lol..
Tilt.. uhm, could of happened, but I mean if they pulled them forward into the water.. that'd work, but if they fell back?? The pool hasn't got a big enough diameter to have them far enough apart and ensure they have a safe landing if they fell off backwards. IF they did want to bring it back, a clever way they could do it is have BOTH contender and Gladiator on adjacent platforms, with the rope going through a pulley on the opposite side of the pool, that way the platforms could be in the cente of the pool (a la duel style, lol).. and well give it a fresh take.. but still probably not viable.
Pursuit - Meh, was never a fan originally.. IF they can incorporate something new to it, or enhance it and make it not so Eliminator-esque, then fair do's..
Rocket Ball - I doubt they had the space (again) to do Swingshot, so Rocket ball is a great alternative. It'll certainly give something new to the show.
Again, people are speculating that these are just the first new games announced, and there could be some suprise additions.. so would it be wrong to say what games would be easy to add?? So apologies to mods if I'm overstepping the mark.
Whiplash - Not really a fan of it, but well.. possibly the cheapest game invented, lol.
Vertigo - surely there is scope to do a decent size replica of this event? and not a majorly costly addition??
New Event Ideas -
I know I've gone on about this more times than I should on here, but I think one or two of the events in the old Bravo show, Battledome.. would make brilliant additions to our new Gladiators show. I can't remember their names, but one (i've found a youtube link for those who havn't seen Battledome
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?feature=related&v=ffxPnh5MQkI ) was a giant revolving platform in which two Warriors (ie Glads) would defend from the contender by means of pushing/wrestling.. the contender's aims is to remove both of them.. sort of a 2-on-1 Pyramid.. it'd be a fair expensive piece of kit to make, but would fit in the limited floorspace, and I believe make a great game.
Another was a giant cylinder/hollow pipe which again required wrestling.. maybe that'd be too similiar to Earthquake, so perhaps not a great addition. Or there was the main event (contender on contender) in which they were on opposing swing-like masts.. that swung into each other until one fell off.. the other being the victor.. that could be replicated on Glads, over the pool.. Glad on one side, contender on the other, swing them down into each other - almost a new age Human Cannonball, without the risk of..well, just kicking the s**t outta Glads really, lol.
Basically, whilst we might not have the space for some old classics, nor the budget.. there is still massive scope and potential for new games, or re-invented games in this smaller arena.
