Was it ever mentioned or is known what would have happened if one of the contenders were injured while competing in the Grand Championship? I assume that the runner up from their half would replace them but am not certain.
I would assume that the person who lost to the injured contender would act as the alternate. Wasn't that what happened with Bernie Miller and Vince Granger in the Semis of season 4...I think that they just replaced Bernie with the one who lost to him in the quarters...
I think if there's more than one choice for alternate, the highest scorer gets the spot. In the case of the season 4 semis, there was already a wild card, and Vince was probably the next highest scorer. In the case of the grand championship, my guess would be the person that lost in the finals would get the spot.
